As an independent business person in the same line of work, office supplies, as some well-recognized, Fortune 500-type companies, the question I get most often is: can you compete with the big chain stores?

The answer is of course I can! However I can tell not everyone believes me, so I thought I would take a little more time to explain why I can compete and do successfully every day.

First of all, I partner with a wholesaler of office supplies, one that does nothing but partner with independent office suppliers like me. They are just as big as my competition, if not bigger, and they use their size on my behalf. Their entire mission is to ensure that I am competitive with the national chain stores.

Second, I have nowhere near the overhead of the big companies. I like to tell people that we can compete with the superstores in all ways save for their marketing budgets. I use that line as a quick way to say that Exec operates with virtually no overhead expense.  We pass that savings on to you.

The biggest battle independent office supply companies like Exec face is letting people know we exist, once they find out, there is no going back to the chains.
