Best Of The Rest: What Other Blogs Had to Say This Week

This is the debut of another new feature here at Greg’s Constant Chaos: “The Best Of The Rest“. Each weekend, I am going to point you towards a couple articles I read this week that I think are worth some of your reading time as well.

Let’s dive right in:

Your Blog vs. The World: 7 Steps To Winning The War for Attention
by Jonathan Morrow @ CopyBlogger

Just because you write a great post doesn’t mean anyone is going to hear about it, and even if they hear about it, there’s no guarantee that they’ll start reading it, and even if they start reading it, there’s a pretty good chance they’ll never finish it. Not because it isn’t good and useful and worthy to be read, but because it isn’t interesting enough to win the war for their attention.

The First Steps to Getting Your Business Online
By Will Hanke @ WillHanke.com

While I think Twitter is probably one of the most awesome business tools out there at the moment, it’s not the core of my business strategy, and it shouldn’t be for you either. Cleaning House: in search of greater relationship symmetry
By Ricardo Bueno @ Ribeezie.com

We spend a lot of time “linking”, “following”, “friending”, and “connecting”. We do it to create awareness, build credibility and generate traffic. And yes, it does work. Especially if you deliver quality information to your community and you take the time to engage consistently and thoughtfully (trust and influence is earned this way). But what good are our efforts if there’s no engagement/communication between you and the members of the communities that you’re trying to build?

Go forth and learn something, just promise me you will come back here next week.

Have a good weekend!
